Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales

El Decreto 687-00 del 2 de Septiembre del 2000, crea e integra el Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (CONIAF).

En fecha 04 de Octubre del año 2012, el Presidente Danilo Medina Sánchez aprueba la Ley 251-12, que deroga el Decreto No. 687-00 del 2 de septiembre del 2000 y crea el Sistema Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria y Forestal (SINIAF), con la finalidad de desarrollar las capacidades nacionales en ciencia y tecnología e innovación en el sector agropecuario y forestal, en procura de lograr un desarrollo económico basado en la sostenibilidad, competitividad, equidad y seguridad alimentaria, mediante la articulación de esfuerzos y coordinación de acciones de todas las instituciones y organizaciones que trabajan en la producción de conocimientos y tecnologías en el sector.

Esta ley instituye El Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (CONlAF), coma una institución de derecho público descentralizada, con autonomía Funcional, organizativa y presupuestaria, con personalidad jurídica y patrimonio propio, con todos los derechos atributos que esta calidad confiere y con duración indefinida. Ente cohesionador y articulador, y de mayor jerarquía del Sistema Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (SINIAF), adscrito al Ministerio de Agricultura (SINIAF, Ley No. 251-12).

Fortalecer, estimular y orientar al Sistema Nacional de Generación, Validación, Difusión y Evaluación de la Adopción de la Tecnología Agropecuaria y Forestal.

Ser la Institución líder del Sistema Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales reconocida nacional e internacionalmente por la transparencia de sus procesos y la búsqueda de la excelencia.

Organización Del CONIAF

El Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (CONIAF) está compuesto por una Junta Directiva, que es la entidad de mayor jerarquía, una Dirección Ejecutiva y un Comité Consultivo.
